"Swanky hotel right in the middle of everything"
Totally for the trendy. Awesome hotel with a lot of swanky, sophisticated details. Great bar and restaurant downstairs for the fashionable. The rooms were elegantly appointed, comfortable bed, nice, clean carpets, cool window bench to gaze over downtown Seattle. I'd definitely go back. A bit pricey, but not too much more than other hotels in area. Very convenient to light rail... Just a quick block walk to University Ave stop and a 35 min ride to Sea-Tac.

"Great location in Seattle"
My son decided to get married and gave us two months notice so I quickly searched for a hotel close to Kerry park in Seattle. The Edgewater came up and looked perfect. We stayed 5 days and totally enjoyed walking to Pikes place market, EMP, space needle, monorail, aquarium, shopping and amazing restaurants. Staff were wonderful.

"Better 'n Home!"
No need to bother family for everything when you are visiting Seattle. Location allows you to rest/relax, do your personal business, and do a bit of shopping. Then you can go out with family and friends. A rental car is nice but not a necessity. You can arrive late evening and leave early morning for your own convenience via shuttle or car. You can entertain friends and family at University Village which is just across the street. Restaurants are world class.

Outdoor life in Seattle is king – from Discovery Park to bike trails

Seattle has been called one of the fittest cities in the country, and the city is generous with trails and paths for cyclists, runners, and walkers. If you’re a lover of the outdoors, you’re not going to want to miss Discovery Park, a 534-acre natural park in the heart of Seattle, which includes two miles of protected beaches. That’s just the tip of the nature-loving iceberg though, as popular destinations such as the unusual Gasworks Park, the gorgeous Washington Park Arboretum, and the beaches of Golden Gardens and Alkiat top the list. Check out Ballard Locks and see various boats traverse the locks and salmon climb the fish ladder to spawn. A trip to Seattle wouldn’t be complete without a ferry ride on Elliot Bay to soak up a magnificent view of the city against a backdrop of snowcapped mountains. Discover one of the many islands in the Puget Sound, with Bainbridge, Vashon and Whidbey Islands just a short ferry ride away or hop aboard one of the various cruises from Seattle for additional sightseeing opportunities.

Space Needle and Seattle Center are at Seattle’s cultural heart

Few visitors to Seattle miss a trip to the city’s most iconic structure – the Space Needle, a 605-foot tall tower with a rotating restaurant, which was built as a central attraction for the 1962 Seattle World Fair. The needle sits in the middle of the Seattle Center, an enormous cultural center hosting a wealth of entertainment venues and museums, including the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum Hall of Fame. Visit the AARP Travel Center to find cheap hotel rates near the Seattle Center and other cultural attractions. And, don’t forget, seniors can book their tours and activities for their Seattle vacations through the AARP Travel Center too.

Seattle’s music venues are high on visitors’ to-do list

If you’re a music buff, you’re probably already aware of Seattle’s robust and diverse music scene. It’s so robust, in fact, no other city in the country has a higher music and dance attendance per capita. That’s a lot of music. And it’s not all about grunge, Seattle’s music scene offers world music, jazz, and singer/songwriter folk, just to mention a few of the eclectic genres.
