“Excellent”
loved everything ,especially having our breakfast delivered every morning .We will stay there again,
“Nice time”
We hope to come back next year.
“Works for wandering”
Downtown hotel, next to Fremont Street. Not as congested as the Strip. Room was clean, little older. While not as big as rooms at some of the hotels along the strip, this one is fine, if a little dated. It seems like the second home for Hawaiians.
“Wonderful Hotel”
The rooms were really very nice. The employees were very helpful. The 24 hour restaurant serves the lowest priced food in Vegas, but it's actually pretty good. Couldn't believe how great this hotel was for the price!
“Very Happy”
Was not expecting such a great hotel for such little money.
“Very impressed”
I had a very comfortable stay. The rooms were always clean and staff was friendly. Every other hotel was within comfortable walking distance from the California. I especially appreciated the ramp that connected the Main Street Station and the California.
“we love the california”
convenient location to everything downtown. excellent hawaaiin food! the service is always good everywhere you go in this hotel. will stay here everytime we go to vegas.
“Suprisingly pleasant hotel experience for this location.”
My husband wanted to stay in the old downtown area for our first night in Vegas since we love to visit the Fremont experience and we had 2 nights comped/free at the Hilton. I chose this hotel because of the other ratings and we both agreed we would stay here again. The place was older but clean. Beds comfortable. Smelled smoky but no worse than other hotel casinos. The check in was a breeze. The coffee shop had excellent food for incredible prices. But I think the best thing about the experience was the great service and friendliness of each of the hotel staff we met, from check in to the woman at the parking lot kiosk heading out who wished us a safe trip home. I have lived in Vegas previously and Las Vegans are not traditionally known for their friendliness but somehow The Californian got the cream of the crop in their employees. Also would recommend checking out the Fremont Experience Light show and shops. Interesting people watching there as well but it's definitely a one-night "free" thing to do in Vegas. Great music, light show and Celebrity look alikes abound for photo ops. (Though you might have to watch your young pubescent children as there are some stripper type ads on the street.)
“Good quality downtown hotel”
Very nice rooms -- great price. Liked that hotel had walkway with shops to Main Street Casino -- best craps and blackjack in the area.
“good one”
