"Classic hotel in a great location!"
We had a fantastic stay at the Millennium Knickerbocker. It reminded me of NY's classic hotels -- great atmosphere and great lobby bar. The concierge was spot on with recommendations for where to eat and what to do, as well as strategic planning so we did them all in the smartest order. She even remembered our quirky specifications the next day when she asked how things went. We would definitely stay again.

"Beautiful hotel with prime location on Magnificent"
From the moment we checked in and throughout our stay our needs were met with a beautifully appointed room, friendly and helpful staff, a perfect location on Michigan Ave and courtesy after courtesy when we needed something. Their lobby staff and bell hops were amazing and always went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and will continue to do so.

The Whitehall Hotel - Chicago Hotels

The Whitehall Hotel

105 E Delaware Pl, Chicago - Map
"Nice "boutique" hotel in great location"
By "boutique", I mean a non-chain hotel that has some character. The Whitehall is almost directly across the street from the Four Seasons, about a block west of the Hilton Chicago and the Hancock Tower, and a block west and south of the venerable Drake Hotel. In other words, you're in a great spot among some heavy hitters, and -- if our experience was any indication -- you won't pay the heavy hitter prices. Of course, the accommodations aren't swanky like those places, but if you're okay with a nice smaller hotel and don't care about not having a pool and a really fancy restaurant on site, this is a great choice. The Red Line is about two blocks west and south, and Michigan Ave. (where several buses run) is a half block) to the east, so getting around downtown and beyond is easy and accessible. The 18 mile-long Chicago Lakefront trail is about three blocks to the northeast (just past the Drake), so if you like to walk, run, bike, etc., you're close to that as well. There are two restaurants "attached" to the Whitehall on the first floor (meaning you don't have to leave the building to get to them). We ate at the Japanese restaurant the night we arrived because we were in a rush to get to a show - it was nothing to write home about, but did in a pinch. The Italian restaurant seemed way overpriced - for breakfast anyway -- but I can't say anything about the food. You are close to several good restaurants on Rush Street, a half a block west and 2-3 blocks north.

"Perfect location for this hotel!"
The staff was very friendly and accomodating our entire stay. The room had modern decor and the bathroom was very spacious. Comfortable beds and we were so glad that there was a grill downstairs so that we didn't have to walk out in the cold to grab a cup of coffee or snacks.
